The Joan Amsterdam
2025
Previously Dante, now The Joan, named after someone whose warmth inspires everything the restaurant does. New venue, new kitchen, new name.
The Spuistraat is packed with restaurants. Everyone is fighting for attention: from passers-by, from Google, from the people who compare five options on their phone before walking in. Dante had a name, but the concept changed completely. That called for a new brand, a new website and a new visual identity.
The brand was built from the ground up. Logo, brandbook, and visual style.
The site is about feeling. Animations translate the atmosphere of the restaurant, and food photography makes visitors hungry before they walk in. Reservations run through an integrated ZenChef module: from site to seat in three clicks, no phone call needed.
Brunch, all day, drinks: every menu is on the site so guests know what to expect. The Joan sits in one of Amsterdam's most iconic monumental buildings and offers private dining for 10 to 150 guests. Corporate dinners, milestones, intimate gatherings: that deserved its own page. Reviews sit prominently on the site, because other people tell the story better than any marketing copy.
The Joan is live. Reservations through the website grew by 120%. The site loads in 1.4 seconds despite heavy visuals.
